A new way to host websites: you'll never even be on our site
October 28, 2026 · 5 min read
RunCabin is a web host you run from your AI assistant. Connect it once to Claude, ChatGPT or Muse, and from then on you manage your website by asking: "put my website online", "change my Saturday hours", "add the photos on my phone", "put it on my own domain". There is no dashboard to learn, no page builder to drag boxes around in and no password to remember. Hosting is free on a RunCabin address, or $4.99 a month or $47.99 a year on your own domain, plus the domain's price.
Every other host is a website you have to visit
Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy and WordPress all work the same way: you go to their site, sign in, find the right menu, drag the right box, and hit publish. Then you forget how you did it, and six months later you need to change your hours and start over. The dashboard is the product, and you have to learn it.
Most owners already have something better at changing things for them: the AI assistant on their phone. It can write a page in seconds. What it usually can't do is put that page online and keep it there. RunCabin gives it that. Your assistant connects to RunCabin through MCP, the standard way AI assistants connect to outside services, and the whole host sits behind that one connection.
So the assistant is the dashboard. You talk; it publishes.
What it looks like
A typical first conversation, start to finish:
- You: "Make a one-page website for my bakery, Rise & Crumb in Frederick. We're open Tuesday to Saturday, 7 to 3. Put it online."
- Your assistant writes the page, publishes it and comes back with the live https address, plus a short list of anything RunCabin flagged, like a photo with no description, which it fixes and publishes again to the same address.
- You, a week later: "We're closed the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Put a note at the top."
- Your assistant reads the page that is live now, adds the note and publishes it. Nothing else on the page moves.
That is the whole workflow. You never opened a browser tab for it.
The old way and this way
| You want to | On a typical builder | On RunCabin |
|---|---|---|
| Change your hours | Sign in, find the page, find the text box, edit, publish | "Change my Saturday hours to 8 to 2" |
| Add new photos | Move them to a computer, upload them, place them | "Put my new photos on the site." You get a link, open it on your phone and pick them |
| Get a contact form | Find a form widget, set up where messages go | "Add a contact form that emails me" |
| Undo a mistake | Hope there's a version history, then find it | "Roll back the last change" |
| Use your own domain | Buy it, then follow DNS instructions | "Put the site on my own domain." You pay a checkout link; registration, DNS and HTTPS are set up for you |
| Remember how it works | Relearn the dashboard every time | Nothing to remember. You ask |
What your assistant can do with RunCabin
- Build and publish a site to a free RunCabin address with HTTPS, and publish again to the same address as often as you like.
- Edit the live site by reading what is online now and changing just the part you asked about.
- Show you a preview at a preview address before it goes live. Anyone with that link can open it, so it isn't private.
- Roll back. Every publish is kept, so the version before can serve again.
- Use your own photos from your phone through a link it sends you.
- Add a contact form whose messages are emailed to you, and read them back when you ask who wrote in.
- Check a domain name and its price for free, then hand you a checkout link to buy it, or connect a domain you already own.
- Forward email at your domain, such as hello@yourdomain.com, to the inbox you already use.
- Tell you how the site is doing: whether it is up, whether its contact forms are wired, and how many people visited today, this week and this month.
RunCabin also hands every connected assistant a build guide, so pages come out fast on a phone, readable and honest. One of its rules: put on the page only the facts you gave, never invented reviews or ratings.
The fine print: the two times you will see us
"Never" is almost true, and here is where it isn't.
- Connecting, once. When you add RunCabin to your assistant, RunCabin's sign-in page opens. You sign in with Google or email and approve the connection. That takes about a minute, and your first sign-in creates your free account.
- Paying, when you buy something. RunCabin never charges you through the chat. A domain or hosting on your own domain comes back as a checkout link for exactly that order, which you open, review and pay yourself.
If you ever want to cancel, that is at runcabin.com/cancel, and taking an assistant's access away is at runcabin.com/keys. If you bring a domain you already own, you add two records at the company you bought it from. Everything else happens in the chat.
What stays in your control
- Money. Anything paid is a checkout link you pay yourself. The assistant can't spend for you.
- Access. The assistant gets a sign-in token for RunCabin, never your password, and reaches only the sites on your own account. Disconnect it at runcabin.com/keys and it is signed out immediately.
- Your site, whichever assistant you use. Sites belong to your RunCabin account. Switch from ChatGPT to Claude, connect with the same sign-in, and the same sites are there. The site stays online whether or not any assistant is connected.
- Mistakes. A bad publish rolls back in one request. Deleting a site, replacing an uploaded image or font, swapping your domain and changing where email forwards are not undone by a rollback, so read those requests before you approve them.

What it costs
Free: publishing and hosting on a RunCabin address, with HTTPS, a contact form that emails you and older versions kept for rollback. No card and no time limit.
On your own domain: hosting is $4.99 a month or $47.99 a year, plus the domain's price, shown before you pay. On a domain bought through RunCabin, forwarding email to your inbox comes at no extra charge. Your AI assistant's own plan is separate and set by the company that makes it.
Every page carries a small "Built with RunCabin" badge, on your own domain too. To see how that compares with the builders, read 2026 builder pricing, and which ones your AI agent can run.
Where your site runs
Every site RunCabin hosts runs in Hetzner's Falkenstein data center park in Germany, on 100% renewable electricity from certified hydropower, which Hetzner has used since 2008. It costs you nothing extra. We make no carbon claim beyond that. How we checked.
Small, local and run on clean power is what people mean by solarpunk, and it is how we think a neighborhood business's website should run: on renewable energy, managed in a sentence, with no dashboard eating your evening.

Questions
What does it mean that I'll never be on RunCabin's site?
RunCabin has no dashboard or page builder you need to learn. You connect it to your AI assistant once, and from then on you publish, edit and manage the website by asking the assistant. You see a RunCabin page when you connect, and you pay on a checkout page if you buy something; everything else happens in the chat.
Which AI assistants can host a website with RunCabin?
Claude, ChatGPT and Muse, Meta's AI agent, plus coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and Windsurf, and any other app that can add an MCP server. You add RunCabin at https://runcabin.com/mcp.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You say what you want in plain words, such as "change my Saturday hours to 8 to 2", and the assistant makes the change and publishes it. Ask for a preview first if you want to look before it goes live.
What if I switch AI assistants?
The sites belong to your RunCabin account, not to the assistant. Connect the new assistant with the same sign-in and it sees the same sites. The site stays online whether or not any assistant is connected.
How much does it cost?
Nothing on a free RunCabin address, with HTTPS, a contact form that emails you and older versions kept for rollback. On your own domain, hosting is $4.99 a month or $47.99 a year, plus the domain's price, shown before you pay. Your AI assistant's own plan is separate.
